Friday July 4th! wee
umm... from what i can remember...
Morning .... rehearsals.... sugar coated shakespeare fliering...got dressed up for the parade (they had me as an abbess) and then doing the parade where i swear i sweat buckets ha.
We had a BBQ at Margret Turner's house with the whole company to meet and greet... the best part was Alan sitting on the hammock and flipping over and then his dog (lulu) trying to eat his pie.. hehe.
We ended the day off with fireworks in Town square... so much fun with a live band and some dancing.
Saturday. Crazy day
9am boot camp... ran up the mountain recited monologues in nature .. ran back now using full voice to no voice. We watched this great video about 'why Shakespeare"...then we did this great conjunction exercise which was called the river... and we envisioned different contrasting bodies of water. I had a nice moment. we had less then a half hour after boot camp for lunch then off to bionic bard and couldabeen a hamlet rehearsal... then we grabbed our staff shirts and went to pass our fliers for sugar coated Shakespeare. Then watched the show... the kids are so so so cute. Then Jenn and i desperately searched for gas.. finally got some and came back. Had my meeting with Alan and talked about what all i need to do work on for my monologue... Then Jenn and i scooted out to Ashland NH for Mass at St Agnes church. It was so cute.. the readings were so so appropriate. and the kind little old lady (ruth i believe) asked us to carry up the gifts. When coming back we AND ANOTHER CAR got pulled over for speeding... but PRAISE THE LORD! He let us go. The apprentices and I then had dinner out at a restaurant. We got 50% off for being in the company, YEA! Then all evening I worked on scansion of my monologue upstairs in one of the upper rooms which i love because it has a cute little lamp.
Sunday: it is today.... This morning I struggled waking up. we had day two of Donna Devlin boot camp.. Today was more about connection and minor focus. we started with a walking around exercise and one person was given the ophilia monologue... the objective for the ophilia was to get peoples attention and everyone else's was to ignore her. Then we went inside for a onomonopea (sp?) exercise where me picture a very vivid image and then say the work... sounding it out.. slow, by syllable, with full voice or whisper. other exercises we did were animal embodiments of character in speech as well as opposite envisioned of the speech. we also did this amazing energy connection excersise with sounds and an old poem. very cool stuff today.. this is my lunch break... I'll post later with more!

Kait,
sounds amazing....so much energy and focus on the craft! And the scenery looks beautiful. Sounds like the house is ok too. Can't wait to hear about it when I see you. Love, Mom
