Don't eat the Vegimite!

G'day!

This has been a whirlwind of a trip ever since I left the Gold Coast and hopped on the flight down here to Sydney for World Youth Day 2008! The energy has been amazing. I have WALKED EVERYWHERE... my feet are killing me...

Now I do not have enough money to write out a lot here but I will try to hit some key things.

My journey with the blessed Mary Mackillop
-Before leaving Pittsburgh she was the WYD patron I studied and presented on
-on the Gold coast we ended up at the little shrine dedicated to her and I had a moving experience at the mass with the Asian pilgrim group from Japan and Toronto...
-When in Sydney I stepped on a piece of paper that got caught to the bottom of my shoe.. upon peeling it off I saw it was a flyer for the Marry Mackillop church where here tome is.. they had a candlelight vigil that evening. It was not hard to convince the group to go. So we took 3 different trains and then walked up this large hill. While some people went to talk to another local pittsburgh group my mom, a couple of the girls, and I went to go in. Once there they told us that it cost 25 dollars per person, we were so disappointed and I apologized to everyone for dragging them all this way. The nuns saw our sadness and felt compassion once i told them the story about how I thought i was called to come because of the flier... they let us in for free! They even asked me to participate by drawling water out of the ancient well there on the site. (amazing!) I also got to pray at the building she lived in and the tome where jp2 and pope beni 165 prayed at. I wept tears of joy for the power of that night.
-Today, after loosing a lot of that feeling from all the struggles of traveling and walking and hiking around the city... i got to touch and pray at a relic of hers at St Mary's Cathedral in Sydney.

I still want to get to P Sherman 42 wallaby way Sydney

Time is running out!
The opera house is so beautiful
that huge bridge everyone talks about... i walked it... yup all of it.
yes i was at all the pope gatherings.. they were amazing.. including the stations
i slept out for the mass... i was in A8 which was in mulch.. corey and i got lost and got trapped out side of the race track for about2 hours wandering trying to find an entrance.
my camera broke the 2nd day here in sydney :(

there is more.. i cant thing... the time is counting down here at the cafe

I love and miss you all... i hjave been praying for just about everyone I can think of

Cant wait to see my NH BA players...

So um... when did it become July... and I can't believe I'm in Aussie land

H'ok ... so don't have much time on this computer here down under... so i must try to be quick.

1. my mailing address in NH:
Kaitlin Mausser
"TUTS Actor"
c/o BBTS POB 270 Waterville Valley
NH 03215

2.July 8th (thank you Jenn for driving my belovid baby car to the airport and back during the butt crack of dawn)
Traveled by plane Manchester NH --> Newark --> Pittsburgh PA.... planes were delayed yet all was well.
Mum picked me up, saw kitten, unpacked repacked... went out with the lovly miss Sarah.. repacked again.. drank margaritas with my dad and slept for a couple hours.

3. July 9th - Prayer send off by Father John at All saints.
Pittsburgh PA --> Atlanta GA --> San Francisco, CA --> Sydney, AU --> Gold Coast AU

some delayes... but we faired pretty well...

4. Um so where did the 10th of july go? somehow we skipped over it! haha
July 11th arrived in aussie. We met our host famiies, ate fatty aussie food.. took an amazing shower and nap (i've been traveling all week!) then we had a huge welcome dinner with their parish after a nice prayer service.

5. 12 of July... its saturday.. finally caught up. so weird to be a day ahead of everyone I know. We were a bit lost this morning, but took the train to Brisbane. had a church service at St Johns and then marched with many many crazy pilgrams down the streets. Our group detoured and visited St Stevens and the belovid statue of Mary Mackillop. We also had a wonderful impromptu mass with Chineese/canadians. It was such a heart warming uplifting spiritual experience.
We then made our way to Roma Street Park for the large diosesan gathering and festivities. Everything was beautiful... This part of Aussie is much like our florida or miami... ugh GORGEOUS.

PS... got lost in a doggy part of tow... yea... have a video of it.. will upload ASAP! ha (hopefully will be on facebook and myspace soon)

So... i am a bit jet lagged... and a but tired... and I want to write more... but I wanted my faithful followers (you are few but beloved) to know how I am fairing.

All my love... from upside down... down under

Finally I have a moment to update!

Friday July 4th! wee
umm... from what i can remember...
Morning .... rehearsals.... sugar coated shakespeare fliering...got dressed up for the parade (they had me as an abbess) and then doing the parade where i swear i sweat buckets ha.
We had a BBQ at Margret Turner's house with the whole company to meet and greet... the best part was Alan sitting on the hammock and flipping over and then his dog (lulu) trying to eat his pie.. hehe.
We ended the day off with fireworks in Town square... so much fun with a live band and some dancing.

Saturday. Crazy day
9am boot camp... ran up the mountain recited monologues in nature .. ran back now using full voice to no voice. We watched this great video about 'why Shakespeare"...then we did this great conjunction exercise which was called the river... and we envisioned different contrasting bodies of water. I had a nice moment. we had less then a half hour after boot camp for lunch then off to bionic bard and couldabeen a hamlet rehearsal... then we grabbed our staff shirts and went to pass our fliers for sugar coated Shakespeare. Then watched the show... the kids are so so so cute. Then Jenn and i desperately searched for gas.. finally got some and came back. Had my meeting with Alan and talked about what all i need to do work on for my monologue... Then Jenn and i scooted out to Ashland NH for Mass at St Agnes church. It was so cute.. the readings were so so appropriate. and the kind little old lady (ruth i believe) asked us to carry up the gifts. When coming back we AND ANOTHER CAR got pulled over for speeding... but PRAISE THE LORD! He let us go. The apprentices and I then had dinner out at a restaurant. We got 50% off for being in the company, YEA! Then all evening I worked on scansion of my monologue upstairs in one of the upper rooms which i love because it has a cute little lamp.

Sunday: it is today.... This morning I struggled waking up. we had day two of Donna Devlin boot camp.. Today was more about connection and minor focus. we started with a walking around exercise and one person was given the ophilia monologue... the objective for the ophilia was to get peoples attention and everyone else's was to ignore her. Then we went inside for a onomonopea (sp?) exercise where me picture a very vivid image and then say the work... sounding it out.. slow, by syllable, with full voice or whisper. other exercises we did were animal embodiments of character in speech as well as opposite envisioned of the speech. we also did this amazing energy connection excersise with sounds and an old poem. very cool stuff today.. this is my lunch break... I'll post later with more!

And so we begin... New Hampshire

Wed june 2nd-Drove from NYC to NH (check)

Arrived early and checked in... met everyone.. took the grand tour of the facilities... had our meeting with Donna going through the entire packet. When we finally had an hour to move in... it started to rain...haha. Then we made out way back to the boys house for a BBQ with the apprentices and Donna and Will and Alan our director. I was getting a bit loopy by this point from not sleeping... We then all packed into cars and drove to Walmart to get some food for our long upcoming day... On the way home I stopped my car with olivia, amanda, and jenn in it... just to gaz at the stars... they were so so so so amazing! THEN by the time we got home I had been away for over 36 hours and literally PASSED OUT!

Thursday june 3rd

Us ladies got up at 630 and did yoga in our downstairs gym. I had the wonderful honor of leading it today and it was nice to get us moving... but I think we wont be doing it so early after this. We ate breakfast, and i went and took a nap.

We were all early to rehearsal with Alan, which started at . We got to do some acting exercises... like tag...explosion tag...mega slow freeze tag..(then James and I took the ski lift to the top of the mountain) then back for repetition meisner stuff... Then we broke for dinner...came back and rehearsed bionic bard until 830pm.

I know there is so much more I could write right now, but I have been so emotional today ... I don't know... I kept bursting into tears about the stress of getting to Australia and back and what it means here. I just couldn't handle any more tonight... I know everyone went out after for ice cream etc in Town square... but i know i can't afford to spend anymore money and i felt so moronic for losing my cool in front of jamie and jenn and bawling into my pillow... i needed time to cool off...

I love you mom and dad and sarah for all your supportive words and encouragement. I miss you.

over and out

T T T...today junior.

Tuesday July 1... umm where did june go?

Mom you were right... it just flew by.

I woke up today with huge blisters still on the pads of my feet... so i didn't want to move. But i eventually got up and walked to get my car and move it closer.... my dad scared me that it would be stolen... (knocks on wood) And when I didn't see it on the street I had a mini panic
and started praying and running... ha... i guess parked farther down then i thought. whew! I then went to get some gas in my tank since it was dying. 4.45 per gallon. AAAAA i only bought 4... that should be enough to get me out of the city.

it took me quite some time to find a gas station though. oh well. after that i walked down to morningside park and laid on the grass and read scripts and daydreamed... it was nice... until a
pigeon pooped on me... of course it would... so then i moved out of the shade and into the sun.

I got a little lost in the park.. but miss Sarah b kept me company on the phone. xox thank you

I met will at 5pm at 116th and b way for some pan asian cuisine... yea i def ordered pad thai... but they brought me pag naige or something like that. oh well it was new and tasty..

Then i took 3 trains downtown to Union Square to see Jamie Jen and Amanda for a
CHOCOLATE DATE!!! it was nice... we had a wonderful time... it looks like it will be good company for the summer. We read over scripts and filled our gills to the brim with cholocate! i HAD THE FONDUE...yummmm + fire = magic... Jen spilled her water all over amanda.. and we laughed about everything, including out flamboyant waitor.

We decided to leave NYC by 4am... so I have to be up at 3am to head over to get amanda then meet jen and jamie in queens... hahah we can do it ladies!

after we said our goodbyes to amanda (she needed to finish packing) jen, jamie and i sat in union square park and ran lines.. and figured out a cool way to say our witch lines in a catch. We were proud of ourselves.. then sang little mermaid in the subway.

I then got myself home to wills dorm/apartment and moved my car onto his street. He has been working so hard on his paper the poor stressed grad student he is. xox. While waiting for
him to close the library (haha) i ran more lines... now i'm biding my time before i leave... i cant sleep... i tried ... it wasnt working.. so i am going to shower and repack the bag i have up here in His room. Leaving in just a coupe hours.

over and OUT!

Wake me up before you go go...

Sunday-
NYC baby! The drive up here was not bad at all... i just hopped on 80 and cruised my way into jersey then into the city... ended up driving up Amsterdam avenue all the way through town...AAAAAAAAAA. haha all you have to do is kinda stay on the road and don't hit anything...

Once I safely parked my car at Wills I made my way downtown to meet up with my friend Gina S. Saw some D list celeb... big whoop..haha. Then made my way back up to midtown to meet up with Raymond... (but first i stuffed my face with an amazing gyro.... GI-RO... not hero.... i'm not giving up my Pittsburgh dialect that easily)

ps.. I love ya Alli! (i promised i'd put you in here)

So after fun w/ Ray I got myself back to wills just in time to lay down and pass out.

Monday-

Woke up and had to move my car... spend about a half hour to 45 minutes trying to find a safe and legal place to park... then walked my but from 130th on morningside street down to 110 on 7th where I caught the subway down to 34th so meet Ray at Starbucks... we then decided to walk all of central park. So we took the sub back to 110 and walked from the top west corner of Central park... all the way down to east 59th... the whole thing hahaha. We saw Momec, and the turtle pond.. the reservoir.. "the castle"... as well as the pond where they sail miniature sailboats.

After that adventure (i have huge blisters on both of my feet) Ray and i wandered infront of Jekyll and Hyde... so we decided to go eat there and explore for a couple of hours. It was fun... a bit cheesy and the service was not good... but all the same... we made our own fun.

Then I parted ways with Ray and headed back into the park to relax and read my scripts. Then I met up with Jamie and Jenn from the apprentice company and we headed to TGI fridays and Blockheads for margaritas. I have some great video of Jamie..... haha HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Those girls are great, and I'm truly looking forward to working with them.

Then i caught the subway up to 96th... then the line stopped for some reason... so i took a taxi up to 121... since my blisters were killing me so badly...

Will and i chatted... while he continued to study... that and have a chat with Sarah Eastly...hehehe you crazy trekki people.

Again... i fell asleep so quickly

Now its Tuesday... my feet still kill me... i need to check on my car... read over scripts... and meet the girls for chocolate around 5.

State College - Elisha and Gregs Reception

Such a wonderful time. Elisha looked absolutely beautiful, and it was like a mini reunion of dancers. Megan Moore, Marianne and Jamie danced for Elisha... The cakes were made by Elisha's mother.. and were quite impressive. Megan gave a beautiful toast to the happy couple... Interesting fact... greg is the youngest of 12 siblings.... wow. everyone at my table was discussing this fact.

Afterwards Michael Fortunato and I met up at Zolas and had a great bottle of Malbec wine.. and crab cakes. We closed down the bar.. haha as always... chatting with the sommelier way after everything else had closed down. We then headed off to meet everyone at cafe 210 (ps the sports cafe closed fyi) ... The happy couple was flanked by friends and enjoying a couple beers. Michael knew the band playing in the other room and was offered a gig coming up... We danced and it was fun!

Good times in state college.... Went to Our lady of Victory church for 1130 mass.. visited elisha and gave her her gift (since i forgot to bring it in the day before)... Just ate pancakes with michael and then trying to see Charles Dumas and Jo...
